(2) I do most devoutly praise God that you are my wife. Life without you would be a burden, with you it is all sun shine. O if I could just be permitted to kiss you one time tonight I would never let you go. O darling take every care of yourself for my sake. If you just know how my poor heart dotes on you, and how you enter into my very being you would then know something of my affection for you. My darling you are constantly in my mind, and I love you almost to distraction. But thank God the time is fast rolling by when in His providence, I shall be permitted to take you tenderly in my arms, caress you. O what a God given blessing to love such a true woman as you are, Darling. Darling, believe what I say for my very soul is filled with the purest love for you that ever burned in any mortals breast. O you are all the world to me. If I could only get letters from you as regularly as you get them from me, I would be so happy but so it is, I must put up with one now and then. But I know it is not your fault bless your sweet heart, for I know you write as often as I do, but they do not reach me. I think they will the most often reach me where I am going. I hope so. O by the way, I found out what will take all the freckles and spots off of your face if you have any. Take the white of an egg and just wash your face with it until it lathers all nice then wash it off with water. Our servant Paddy took all the tan and freckles off of his face with it. Wash it several times. It will make your skin so smooth. Try it.
