during the same week I also finished threshing, which I always dread- I could not hire hands to thresh- so I had to help for help back- and having three days and a half threshing of my own it took considerable help back to get hands. I did not put in as much wheat this fall as usual, only 25 acres. Having to help back has thrown me behind with my work I have not gathered but little corn yet. I expect to go into the corn this week with two hands besides myself, and then the way corn will come in, the weather permitting, will be surprising to the natives, I would not tell you about my work, but that you may be slightly interested, as the date of my visit must depend some on my work. I intend paying that visit at anyrate work or no work. And we have been putting up a condition to our dwelling house, as it was we did not
