Lebanon Kentucky December 12th 1864 Dear Aunt Tillie Here I am again How do you do? and how are all the folks? I have taken possession of Capt Fidler's room and desk and captured a sheet of his fine paper that he writes to his Sweet-heart on- I think I am putting it to good use, dont you? he went to Louisville this after noon and will be gone till Thursday Spect he will go down to Elizabethtown to see his gal before he comes back, he told me to stay in here while he was gone and take care of the papers- told me what ones to take along if we have to run from the rebels before he got back. Dont think there is much danger of old Hoods coming up this way now- he has been too slow about it- Capt got a letter from his Brother at Nashville to day- he is Major in the 6th Ky Cavalry- he says Thomas has [Vertically at top of page:-] Tuesday morning It is cold and cloudy this morning looks as though we would have more snow before night, Uncle George has not written to me for a long time- My "Old "Woman" Sends Compliments, Much love to all the folks yourself included - Good Bye From Jeff {Tillie
