Commissioners, hope you may Ever be thus lucky, Iowa is the greatest place for parties I know of. I had an invite to one in town last Wednesday, and have another for Thursday of this week also in Wenona. dident attend the other perhaps will go to this one. I dont approve of young ladies - good-looking ones at least - visiting you, and altho' I can but comment the rich, handsome, & stilish Ohio, ladies taste in desiring an introduction to Mr C. I hope she has some glaring fault, that will not recomend her to his favor; aint I selfish? you will pardon an exibition of it, I hope this time. Brother Geo. remained at home but 10 days. a short but pleasant visit, they (our boys) have only eight months more to soldier for our old Uncle, wont I be glad when that time has rolled round. what a pen I'll get a goose quill if this dont do better soon, Jeff seems so anxious to get home, he had charge of the Provo's Office when writing the last letter One of the boys who went from here captured a stand of the Rebs colors at Franklin Tenn, it is now in Town. I have seen the "rag," if that be typical of the Confederacy it is about used up.
