Here it is - my love to Tillie. Sam. A. Clark. Linn. Grove Ia. Dec 27th /64 Dear Tillie: Your kind and welcome favor came to hand in due season and gave the best satisfaction imaginable. You could not have chosen a more desirable time to write to "yours truly." It just arived in time to save me from a spell of the "Blues." I was begining to feel lonesome. I wanted company, some body to talk to. After reading the aforesaid epistle, my "blues" all vanish "like Ghosts at the dawning of day."
