know that I have been appropriating to my individual use some of Uncle Sams, and his property. But never mind we are going to have Peace now. So that we will not require this sheet of paper nor the use of this pen much longer What think, you a way out there on the Prairies of this peace movement. For my own part I am of the opinion that they will not accomplish any thing at all. A.H. Stevens has not come clothed with power to accomplish that which is so much Desired by men of both sides if we take the gass of the Richmaond papers for what it is intended. the Rebs. will accept nothing short of a Southern Confederacy, and that they will never get. unless by force of armes and, to my notion that is entirely out of the question. Our daily Journals here are so full of Peace rumors that they have not space for any thing else. I cincerely hope that they the commissioners may, hit upon termes that will meet the views of both sections. Though I have no faith in the arrangment whatever. Some predict a cecasion of hostiliys with in ten or twenty days. Such persons are half crazed upon the subject, and there talk will have to be taken
