Deer Park Feb 10 1865 Friend Tillie I received a not from our mutual friend Sam C. by last wedensday mail written as he informed me at your request. I am Verry sorow to say that I found it utterly imposable to come to time in the matter of the invitation. nothing would have given me greater pleasure than to have assisted at the destruction of the Turkey and to have met my true and tried friends. I would say here by way of reminder that If Friend Sam comes back and you take it into your hearts to have another Turkey killed or any other doings at which you will require help I can be had by sending word in time it requires a bout a week to get a Letter to or from Wenona as we have no direct rout. Evry thing goes via Chicago and if it reaches Ottawa by Wedensday Evening it must remain there untill Saturdy
