Carmicheals February the 15th 1865 My Dear Aunt Tillie I received your very welcome letter a few days ago and as it is raining so that I canot go to school this afternoon, I will endeavor to answer it. I have got almost well, but I do not want to get wet for fear of getting sick again; I still sweat a little once in a while. you inquired what was the matter with me? I guess it was the Remittant feever. I cannot study as well since I have been sick. I have the head ache a great deal of the time, we have had the most sleighing here, for the last week or two there has been a party every night. (or nearly) but today will stop it I guess from the way it is raining, there has been a great many parties around here this winter. I have been to several, was slighing two It has quit raining so I believe I will finish this and take it to the ofice we do not get the mail but twice a week since the river is frozen over it will break up now in a few days I expect Yes I do think you are uncomon smart makeing one whole quilt in one year You will have to hurry up now and make some more if I was there I might make a night cap or some other thing belonging to the Bridal Trouseu Write soon and tell mother she has a daughter Arabeller in the Keystone State that would like to get a letter from home once more. I have not had a letter from home for three weeks or more they must have forgoten how to write or else they are all sick I do not know what to think Give my love to all inquiring friends - keep a good share for Tillie, your niece Ara
