I feel something like having the ague - am going to take some quinine this evening - think it will bring me out all right. On my return home I found two invitations awaiting my arival soliciting the presence of myself and lady at a ball to be given on the 22nd. (Washingtons birth day) both on the same evening, one in Mt Pleasant, the other in Columbus City. I cant attend both - and I will sell you one of them for a dollar. I do not know that I can attend either one of them - if I find that I cant both invitations will be for sale. I presume that the most of my night running has passed and I had better be putting in my time to the best advantage while I am young. for when I get old I cant I do not think of anything further until after hearing from you. Please give my kindest regards to all our folks and believe me to be affectionately Yours, Sam. (Business letter - Principally)
