They have put us back on ten day phase again so it will be fifty days before I'm out (that is school days). It does seem closer now tho that I've passed the halfway mark and I'll surely be glad to get away from here. Do the Texas fellows in camp get razed about this country and they don't have much of any come back except to say "it isn't this way where I live." We are really a mixed up bunch, the fellows on both bunks beside me are from W.Virg, across from is a fellow from Oregon, Dad he lives close to Bend. Ore. don't we get some lumber from there? Also there is, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Virginia, Texas, California, Wash. D.C. Kansas, Nebr. it seems every state in the Union and I expect it will always be that way in the army. My grades so far have been Basic - 87 Structures - 92 Hydraulics - 85 .Propellers 85 Instruments -90 Engine Repair-85 you see they aren't so hot but they don't give any 95's in most branches 90 is the extreme top. Many of the fellows have gotten 70's- 75's so I'm well please if I can keep up as well as I have been. There have been a few flunk out but not many most all the fellows realize they have a job to do and apply themselves to it whether they like it or not. I can't imagine myself looking after a big bomber or pursuit ship but that's a long way off. The inspections on these planes are very rigid and performed regularly at - daily, 25hr, 50hr, 100hr, 200hr and engines are changed every 400hrs.
