Tuesday, May 24, 1864 Davenport Detailed to [illegible] Wednesday 25 our Co. marched to Surgeon headquarters to be examined and all passed except [illegible] after which we were organized into the 44th Iowa Regt. with orders to remove Camp [illegible] immediately after dinner which we did the camp being [illegible] distant. [illegible] on a beautiful [illegible] Thursday 26 Camp [illegible] went to South Davenport [illegible]
