Davenport Thursday, June 2, 1864 went to Camp McClellan with 1st and 2nd [illegible] to draw out Co's uniform at 4 o clock AM returned 9 o clock. took late breakfast [illegible] 82 men, after being distributed we took dinner and immediately formed in rank and marched to Davenport to draw arms. sent [illegible] home by express. lost knife Friday 3 sent [letter?] [to?] Father by [illegible] Father with my Certificate and order to [illegible] Bounty Warrant [illegible] the 44 Regiment started for Cairo by rail 9 o clock AM. arrived at lasalle junction in afternoon Saturday 4 on cars all day. got my canteen filled with milk free at sunrise. my bottle of direah medicine got uncorked & most all spiled [illegible] my other bottle of [medicine?] [illegible]
