April 25th 1919 Dearest Mother - The other day I sent you a card letter from La Boule intending to write you a letter about my visit to Paris at the same time but we were too busy getting ready to leave there. After the grand rush at La Boule the Col. sent us to Paris on a three day leave which was really a five day leave. We went up in the evening arriving in the morning. We went right out to B.H. 57 where we slept while we were in Paris. The day we arrived we went shopping as Mrs. V wanted to get a watch and Miss. Root had a Christmas present of $150 to spend so we tried to spend it. We also did some sight seeing and I ran into Margaret Conover and had a nice visit with her. The
