Apr 25 doubtedly, after we are settled we will like it better for Vannes is quite an interesting old city and there are many nice trips to be taken. I can see that we are going to be very busy as things are not systematized and everything is so dirty. You would die if you could see our W.C. It is in an old barn and there is a row of seats up three steps. No partitions and about as much privacy as a gold fish. For the first time I am really discouraged about the prospect of getting home. Won't you please tell me if you can get along all right on the allotment until I do get there. I got you some black kid gloves in Paris. I'll send them along as soon as I can wrap them. Thank the Lord that I have a sense of humor. War is Hell but Peace is worse - and again your daughter Louise is homesick. Hope you keep well until I see you.
