Shells around them Graves which held single and multiple bodies of soldiers of both countries thought it the field which had been practically blown to pieces trenches of both sides with signs in French and German showing the illegible and tide of the battle immense numbers of unused shells and material of all kinds cluttered the ground the natural difficulties make it hard to believe that it could be successful illegible attacked after looking things over with never ending interest we started back to town we stopped at a French camp and had a fine lunch and they then took us back
