Fri. 16 Dr. [Goodno] [the we script] and I started on a tour for visiting the schools in this country. We had pretty good sucess with diverting experience. Met various kinds of people and teachers who were glad to see us. Stopped at Mr. Wilson over night, who tooks good care of us and did not charge us anything. The dr. and I had considerable [aport] in relating anecdotes to each other. I enjoyed his society hugely. We did not want to sleep on feathers so we [filed] them off, and had considerable fun at "going to bed" Sat Sun 17 We rose uncommonly early this morning, the Dr. being uncommonly sharp again, i [filed] the featherbed on the bed again and made the bed in style, I would like to be present when the young lady comes to make it, how astonished she will be. Had a good breakfast after which we bade the good people farewell and went on our way rejoicing. Stopped at [Cove's] during a heavy thunder shower, where we had a fine social entertainment. Mr. & Mrs. [Cone] are teachers and were glad to see us. Kept on our journey Toward West Liberty - the roads being pretty bad, but our horse is a noble animal and did admirably. Saw a few [indirectors]. Took dinner at Nichol's. Whence we concluded to return to [mrs cabine]. After passing through a heavy rain, we arrived here at 8 pm.
