Wed. 21. It rained a little this forenoon, nevertheless I got ready for my trip through the County and left about 11 o’clock A.M. Started in the direction of Fairport, visited several school and stopped with Mr. Geo. Metz, who is very hospitable, I had a good time. Thurs. 22. Started early this morning, saw a good many school moms, had a fine time in talking to them and their pupils. I had the good fortune of stopping over night with Mr. Skiles, who is an excellent man, and Mr. Shand was teaching there a fine a fine teacher. Fri. 23. I travelled over some beautiful country, the farmers are very busy, but they were all anxious to talk to me about school matters. I was belated and stayed with Mr. Merritt, had a good social time. Sat.24. Saw Mr. Moss this morning. Also Mr. M. Farnsworth, with whom, Miss Matilda Parvin is boarding, who rode to town with me, she is a very fine young lady. I did not do much today, but arrange things. I had a very pleasant trip. Sun. 25. I attended the Presbyterian Church, this A.M. SS. this P.M. Visited Neidig’s family, and went to the U.B. Church with Miss Roanna Neidig. Spent a fine Sabbath.
