June 3, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: It cleared and warmed up a bit today and tonight at 7: P.M. it is quite nice. Wish it could settle down but the grass in the nearby range looks a lot better. I think it had really begun to suffer from the drought. Our party I think was a grand success everyone seemed to have a good time. The orchestra was good, entertainment went over well and in general it was quite an event. Fellows all behaved pretty well only a few got drunk. certainly no more than any other dance Ive been to where so may were present. We got in two more new planes yesterday which cuts down every ones crew by several men. When we get up to full strength we will have but eight men per ship which will really crowed us. We will have to be in flights each helping the other. The new planes we have gotten lately are Fards and have several
