Saving...
124 Falsehood is not only one of the most humiliating vices, but sooner or later it is most certain to lead to serious crimes. Industry well directed, will give a man a competency in a few years, but the greatest industry misapplied, is useless. Zeal not rightly directed is pernicious; for, as it makes a good cause better, so it makes a bad cause worse. We learn wisdom more from failure than from success; we often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do, & who never made a mistake, never made a discovery.
