American Red Cross Belgrade, Serbia Feb. 26, 1919 Mrs W. H. Fox 610 Prospect Ave. El Paso, Texas Dear Mrs Fox:- I have it painful duty to write you relative to the death of your husband which took place Feb. 22, 1919 at Semendina, Serbia. He was in about two weeks and Dr McPhanon and myself with three trained nurses were with him to the last. I will look up in detail [illegible] [illegible] that [illegible] [illegible] simply [illegible] you, which you should know relative to his request [illegible] [illegible] prior to his death. He is buried here in Belgrade and had a large funeral while a [illegible] who were with us will write to you about in detail. He has also been decorated by the Serbian government which I will see to that you receive. He made a will to supersede a will he made at Camp B___ and which I believe is in his house in Iowa.
