The State University of Iowa Iowa City, Iowa My dear Mrs. Fox, Loring Balding, a senior dental student has just told me that your husband has died in Siberia. I trust it is not true, but I want to say that I have always considered your husband as the most brilliant of the men who have been connected with this department. He was so likable, that the news of his death fills me with a sense of personal loss & a depression hard to throw off. I have never ceased regretting that Dr. Fox left this institution. He was always an inspiration to righteous endeavor. With great sympathy Yours Very Sorrowfully H J Prentiss March 7th 1919
