Aug. 19, 1943 [Pacatello?], Idaho Dear Dad, Mom, & Grandma: Its been a [hot?] [illegible] here today, had a 50 hr. [inspection?] so I [nutured?] is especially fridays. Had a pretty good inspection [illegible] had [grute?] a little extra work. Had to hammer and some dents in the material stabilizer and install a couple of generators, game the ship a thorough washing which is a job in itself. Last night I went into town with a couple of buddies and saw a movie and had a steak, both were good. Was real cloudy when I came home thought it would rain [illegible] morning but it didn't. [Gas?] my quite early and [gus?] started to work. Bay are my [canneries?] a mess the batteries in my shift [anerchanged?] the other day and rain arid all over the inside of the plane. I got some or me unlike [illegible] mess and [illegible] my garments are in shreds. [Illegible] I can salvage them for some new ones. Had home for suffer [illegible] and it was salty I cant seem to get enough to drink. We are fortunate in having good water its usually let is rain all the time and its nice and cold.
