Chicago, Ill 1917 July 7, 1917 Dear Mother, I rec. your letter also one from Grace. I wrote four letters this afternoon. I have a pass until Mon. morning at 7 am. John Nelson said to me I think that was my chicken in your box, if it was he's out of luck he never got a peace of it. He said my girl said she sent it. I got a letter from Mayme she say's she's head nurse in the operating room. She must be liked there, she sure is some nurse. I am going up to a show tonight. I will send you the program they had out at the east end of the pier. I went to it,it sure was fine. We get a new captian. Captain Thomas has been made Commanding Major he takes Blacks place. I like Cap. Homes
