Chicago Ill July 16 1917 Dear Mother: I rec'd your two letters today. I doan my wash yesterday morning I put them on the kitchen stove and bowled them I had a pair of [Name?] blue socks in with them and when I took them out all of them were blue. ha-ha. Pretty good one on me isnt it? Well we leave wed. for sure. Captain black told us to night, and when you write this will be my address. Prvt F. W. McDermott Co. E. 13 engrs. [(By)?]N. A. U. S.
