Dec.22, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Well I got out of the hospital today for which I am thankful. Feel pretty good and sure hope I dont get anymore colds. Got the Red Cross paid off today and Im sending a money order. This is all I have to send you for Christmas and I want you to split fifty dollars between you and each get something you want. Now please do this, it isnt much for all the things you've done for me but I do send my love with it and wishes for a very merry Christmas. The line is quite deserted there are an awful lot of fellows on furlough just now. it makes the work go slow because we are so short handed. Im glad so many can be home over the holiday tho. I got a bunch more cards today
