Mon. June 19, 1944. Dear Dave: I think after the war we should errect a monument in Central park to the man who did the most to keep up soldiers morale - Dave Elder. No kidding Dave you don't know how much your "Scuttlebutt" is enjoyed and I know it means even more to those boys [illegible], We W.T S. men still are watching the progress of our bills in Congress ([When?] Im in the senate now as well as the [illegible]) to put us back to flying but the "Mills of the Yards" [have?] nothing one the slowness with which Congress grinds.
