July 11 - '44 Dear Dave; Rec'd your letter on Scuttlebutt today. I enjoy this very much to hear the highlights of the home news and to know what some of the other fellows are doing and where they are. My wife sent me some pictures from the Des Moines Register from section of quiet Woshington and its quiet way. One don't really appreciate this until he is away and his maine thoughts and hopes are to get back from this big game of "hurry up and wait" I got to see Robt Sorrell a few times before he was shipped out. Dave the thing I like about your letter is you get a different type of news thean the home folks send which is very interesting. So much for the ramblings. Thanks alot Dave and Keep 'em comin." Yours Truely Harold W Jarvis
