if he was a traitor he would work against us but he does all he can for his division we draw the best rations there is to be drawn and he takes an interest in drawing us good clothes if any is damaged he will condemn them and let us have them as what they are worth if he was a copperhead he could do us a goodeal of damage he could draw the poorest clothes and rations the Government afforded and make us take them good or bad at full price and on the march we always have plenty as long as it can be had. No sir Pap I believe General Tuttle is as true a man as Col Stone but I believe Stone will make the best officer for our State and that is why I am going to vote for him you know the bible says judge a tree by its fruits and I have been judging General Tuttle by the same
