The weather here is very warm I dont think I ever saw as warm a day in Iowa I like to suffocated setting around in the shade but it rained this morning and it is a little cooler now I hope you will have plenty of rain there in a short time for I would like to hear of good crops for I think they will be needed for the soldiers is all bent on getting married when they come I said all but I will take part of that back for me and Dave never intend to get married the reason is we cant find any person to have us but Ned and Hen I guess will get married and that will be fun enough for us the boys got likenesses tho other day from some person they would not show them to us I guess if they did we might plague them so they keep them close and look mighty pleasing about something If they dont quit looking at the pictures so often I will write their girls about it but fun is fun and we will let the poor fellows enjoy themselves as long as they can Give my respects (if I have any) to all the relations friends and acquaintences Especially to the Rev Boyles and family tell him nothing would please us better than to have the privelege of hearing him make another raid on the copperheads I close for the present write soon too all the family Yours as ever P H Mark
