they had stole something I think they will look worse than ever when they hear how bad they got beat I think perhaps we will leave today they are a going to take the baggage to the depot today & we will stay here till night & perhaps till morning the Rebels are fortifying out at Champion hills they are not very strong & we are the same way I will close for this time Remember to send the particulars of the election as soon as you get them for we are all eyes & ears down here No more write soon Your truly P.H.
