Wiesbaden, Germany Sep't. 21, 1945 I Dear Dave, Well it's been several months since I last wrote to you so I figure I better get in a little pen time on your behalf. Everything has been running swell for me since I last wrote. I was married on May 31st. to an English girl in Oxford, England. I beg your pardon. She is Scotch. She was in the R.A.F. then but was honorably discharged Sep't. 7th. I came back to Toussus Le Noble, France & in a few days I made Pfc. A few days later I went to the hospital with scarlet fever. Boy was I ever a sick little doggie for awhile. Highest temperature was about 106. Then I got out of the hospital in July and was in a different squadron. We moved to Chaville, France. That was July 11th.. We were still in the Paris area. July 30th. I drove a jeep in the convoy to Frankfurt, Germany. Well I started to anyhow. I burned out the transmission in Verdun. So I drove an ambulance the rest of the way. Then came my birthday and boy did I ever get a swell one. My birthday is August 15th. Need I say more. So the C.O. let me go on
