Alegany Mountains & down the Potomac river 27th Pass through Cumberland M.D. 28th arrive at Washington after dark, take supper & stop all night at the Soldiers rest 29th.. march down the river about 4 miles & go into camp at Camp Stoneman we Stay in wedge tents five men in each ten 30th - - - - 31st move camp about 100 rods to the north side of the hill where we suffer with cold while we stay there
