Apr 7th the fall of the rebel Capitol was celebrated here by the firing of Cannons ringing of bells &c Apr 10th Sergt Hubbard & myself got a pass & went to the Sea Coast to gather natural curiosities to send home Stayed untill April 12th & returned to Camp well satisfied with our adventure, the people we saw (while out) were union loving citizens 13th on picket again
