May 1865 through town & camp about 1/2 mile out on the north side, the weather very warm & sultry, several men sun struck, march about 11 miles Greensboro is a very pleasant town of about 2000 inhabitants & is the County Seat of Green Co 8th all day in Camp 9th break camp at 7 A.M. march through town to Depot took cars & start at 9 A.M., pass through Jamestown High Point Thomasville & Lexington
