Tues Eve: Dec 11,1917 Dearest folks at home: Guess I haven't written for over a week so I'll try to make up for lost time. We have certainly been kept busy the past few weeks. Eight hours drill every day and then an hour of school at night except Saturday and Sunday. We are still quarantined for the measles. Two cases developed in headquarters Company today. And as they eat in the same messhall as we do that causes our quarantine to stay for another week or more. We would have been out tomorrow if no cases had developed. I was on kitchen police last Wed, Thurs & Friday. Then Sunday we had a big review of all the Iowa troops fore Governor Harding. We left camp at 6:35 a.m and went on three miles to the polo grounds where there is a dandy place for a parade. Theres forty acres of the Upper margin: How is everygody there: Does Orville still walk the floor with his daughter.
