out Testaments (New) to all the British soldiers who would sign a pledge to read one, at least, chapter a day. Said he gave out 365,000 New Testaments to those men. He gave some out last night too. I got one. They are a very nice little book. I am in another squad now and for a time am acting corporal. One of our fellows has the measles so I spose we'll have to go to the contact camp. That, however, is not far. We'll only have to move into the street next to us for that's where they are keeping the exposed men. None of us heard first call this morning. So we didn't stand reveille. Spect I, for one, will get a few sticks of wood to cut or Extra duty. I think I'm too good anyway for I haven't had any Extra duty since I've been in service. That's something few of them can say.
