Saving...
a rainstorm sweeping down the Loch. Sunday we picked brambles (blackberries) in the common, a hill near the house. We had high tea about seven and listened to the radio till about 9:30. Then we'd have a glass of milk, my heater would be turned on, a hot water bottle tucked in my bed and we'd turn in. They had gas light in the cottage, but have electricity in Fernhill, where they are going this week. It's near the other place, but down nearer the water. Sunday I slept till noon, incidentally. Monday morning we got up at six and after breakfast Maureen and I took the 7:10 steamer to Gourock in the midst of the most gorgeous pink sunrise over the Firth. The moonlight was lovely there too. She went to Glasgow with me and put me on the train I came on down to London and stayed last night (a quiet one) and came on here this morning. I'll have to leave my trip home till next time. Love, Helen
