Saving...
The Red Cross people went directly from the boat to London, where we spent a week, so it was London itself I was in. It was at the time of the last good-sized air raids and was quite exciting. We had over a hundred planes raiding the second night we were there. Then, when we got our business finished at Headquarters, we went up to Llandudno and joined the unit, which had gone directly there. We stayed there till we came here for good, or at least so far. I read of the death in connection with the Wisc. game. Why will they let kids who are injured keep on playing? Yes, I can have things mailed to Maureen from the post. It is very simple, as Jay usually takes them on her way to work. The etchings are packed flat and should be there by now. Don't worry about London. It's a big city and one's chances of being hit would run about the same as being hit by an auto in New York. Mrs. B's house is about fifteen miles away. We are having dinner prepared by Polly in the Red Cross house Wednesday. Then Jay and I go to the Goddards (one of my volunteers) Thursday, and Jay, Polly, Johnnie & I go to Whitehall for the houseparty Sat night & Sunday. Love, Helen
