Sept 8 1918 Somewhere in France My Dear Mother. I have received a whole bunch of letters in the last three days and you can bet there was one Soldier boy in France who was tickled to hear from home. You don't know what a help it is to know that the dear ones at home have not forgotton you and I must say that you and Leona have most certainly been faithful to your soldier boy. and I have tried to be faithful to you but you must remember that its oftimes we are in the move and it is hard to get letters mailed and if you don't hear just as quick as you think you should please don't stop writing and don't blame me.
