Nov 24 1918 Lucy France My Dear Father, Today is the day when all the A.E.F. boys are to write to their Fathers and I am going to write to you. It will soon be Thanksgiving and I think that if Ever a Division has anything to be thankful for the 88 certainly have. we held the Alsace Lorraine front in what was called a quiet sector and had just received orders to move to the big front and some regiments were already on the move when the Armistice was signed another week and we would have been in the thick of it. Our Battalion was on the front near Hagenbeck.
