one about the (88th). In the year 1920 General John J. Pershing and Marshel Foch were seated in a large Resturant in New York City. Marshel Foch says to Pershing what became of the fighting 88th and General Pershing jumped up and says by George Marshel I am glad you spoke about them, why I forgot about them and left them at Grondecourt. but Oh well we will have to be patient. and it wont be long now until we will have the right to wear the gold stripe showing that we have been in the foreign service six months the wether is getting colder tonight and a little snow is falling but I guess we are getting out of a lot of cold weather by being over here as you said in the last letter I got that it had been 20 below
