Dec. 6 1886 Dear Brother I write this to you not because you kept your promise and wrote to me but because I would like to honor of your dead or alive we did not look for you untill three weeks had passed and then Pa watched for a letter he has went every mail night- it is very cold weather and we did not want you to come and no one be there to meet you. we killed [Minnie?] and have onely a part of the hind quarter left so you had better hurry doe Richard got [his arm broke he went to the creamery and just as he got out of the wagon they blew the whistle, and the team started [illegible] he caught-at-them and the drew him down and
