father and brothers have been [illegible] for the past two weeks. We have had some very hot weather the last of June & first of July, the thermometer stood 135 degrees in the sun 115 degrees in shade. Ma had poor luck with her garden with the exceptions of Tomatoes & Cabbage which looks very nice now. I am a lover of Tomatoes and Sauerkraut, and flowers are a special favorite of mine It seems to me that you must have a very cheerful pleasant home with all the necessaries of life every time I read your letter it gives me a stronger desire to see you in your new home. You have a nice lot of chickens. It makes me feel sad to think that I haven't had a [Strawberry?] this summer- and you have had as many
