A violent sprain in the knee I have known to be cured by Doctor Gravely he told the [chair] that was hurt and he prepared the mixture himself It was [neatsfoot] oil from the [porf] mixed with the white of an egg and by keeping the part constantly bathed it made a perfect cure keep the part wrapped in flannel Mrs Rowland Receipt Book Amaretto will dye cloth of a [illegible] wash it well then soak it well then dissolve a 1/2 lb of Amaretto in warm water then simmer the cloth &c in the same Henry Rowland The pulps of Potatoes scraped in water cleanses the finest kinds of silk without injuring the fabric or colour Family Herald For the gravel 1/2 oz of stick licorice boil in a half of a pint of water till it comes to a quarter of a pint take the whole every morning a little warm make it fresh every night Mrs. [Leinfriece?]
