Yeast Bread. Mother Mix your bread in the evening using about 1/2 pt yeast - to 2 qts flour Kneed the sponge thoroughly in the morning, moulding into loaves leaving it in a warm place for 1/2 hour before baking. Tea Cakes nobody. 1 cup sugar, 1 3/4 of flour - 2/3 of milk 2 eggs - 1 teaspoon soda - 2 of C. tartar - butter size of an egg. Bannocks Mrs R. 1 qt meal scalded with 1 qt milk 3 to 6 eggs - 1 tablespoon white sugar Wonders Mrs Coombs 12 tablespoon sugar - 9 of melted butter 6 eggs - 1/2 cup milk - 1 nutmeg - flour & roll to fry in hot fat.
