Cocoanut Pie - continued Mary Tohey 1 qt milk, 4 eggs large size - 1 Cocoanut grated sugar the same as for Custard - 1 Lemon butter the size of an egg. another Ben. Coombs 1 Lb Cocoanut - 6 eggs - 1/4 Lb butter - 1/2 Lb sugar - 1/2 pt milk Mince Pies Mrs Russell - Boil a Beef tongue 6 Lbs & what is called the vein of a round of beef 6 Lbs. six hours. - after skinning the tongue & extracting the gristle from it & the beef, chop them very fine add 5 Lbs suet, also chopped fine 5 Lbs stoned raisins, also chopped fine 3 Lbs dried currants, 1 1/2 Lbs citron in small thin pieces, 4 Lbs Brown sugar, 1 pt good molasses, 1 qt brandy, 1 qt white wine, 1/2 cup each salt, cinnamon allspice, & cloves, 3 nutmegs, 1 tablespoon mace, mix all well together & let it stand over night, what you wish to use take into another pan & add half as much chopped apples as you have meat, if not sweet enough add more sugar also full 2 qts
