Apple Fritters. Mrs Swifts 1 pint milk, 2 eggs, a little sugar & salt flour to thicken for frying or a little Indian meal, a little saleratus & 5 or 6 apples cut fine Plum Porridge. Mrs Coombs 1 qt water, put the raisins to boil until they are soft - a large spoon Indian meal, let that boil awhile, then a little flour mixed with water & boil also & a little milk and salt when thick enough - put sugar wine & nutmeg to taste. Blanc-mange. Mrs R. 2 1/2 oz Ising-glass, shred fine - 2 qts new milk soak the ising glass in milk 2 hours - put it over a slow fire stirring it constantly 15 minutes - add 10 drops ess. lemon or cinnamon sugar to your taste - it will require 3 oz ising-glass to the same quantity of milk in warm weather.
