Poor Man's Cake. 1 lb. seeded raisins 2 cups of water. 1 lb brown sugar. 3 tablespoons lard. 2 teapoons of cinnamon 1 teapoons of cloves. Boil all together 10 min. let get cold then add 1 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in a little warm water then add 3 cups of flour and bake til will not stick to a straw. (about an hour)
