Ashley Mazzocchi Apricot Bars- Helen Atwood 2/3 cup dried apricot 1/2 cup soft butter 1/4 cup gran. sugar 1 cup sifted flour 1/3 cup "(sifted flour)" 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs well beaten 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup chopped nuts Confectioners sugar Rinse apricots, cover with water, Boil 5 mins, drain, cool, chop, grease "8X8" x2 pan. Mix until crumbly BUTTER? gran sugar & 1 cup flour. Pack into pan. Bake until light brown about 25 minutes. Add brown sugar, gradually to well beaten egg. Then 1/3 cup flour, b. powder & salt, mix well, add vanilla, apricots, and nuts. Spread over baked layer. Bake 30 mins. Cool in pan. Cut into bars & roll in Conf. sugar 350 degree oven
