September 1. 1916 Dear Conger:, Well, you beat me to it. To use a slang phrase. But you wouldn't if you hadn't come right on from New York. I had intended to have a letter right there on your desk facing you, the first thing you saw. I'm so glad "you're back." Though it is surprising to my self how little i have worried. Your "dont worry a particle" and my promise not to has helped me to keep that promise.
